Deputy PM: Russia’s demand for IT staff rises 63% over year

MOSCOW, Apr 21 (PRIME) -- Russian companies’ demand for IT staff has spiked by 63% at the beginning of 2023 in comparison to 2022, the office of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said on Friday.

“As of the beginning of 2023, the national market counted about 59,000 IT vacancies,” the office said.

News and research agency TelecomDaily General Director Denis Kuskov said that since foreign companies whose software Russia had been using for a long time mainly quit the country, Russia needed specialists to create new software and hardware.

“Everything has changed now, and the trend is now in favor of national (products). It requires significant developments, this is why demand for IT specialists in the sphere of software and hardware is extremely high and, evidently, will not fall in the next few years,” Kuskov said.
